How to connect LiveClass@home

Below is information on how your connection will work to the course you are booked through LiveClass@home, so that you may check that audio and video work in both directions. This information is frequently updated, so you should return to this page if you need to review this information.
Before the course starts, you will receive specific information on how to connect to your particular classroom. Below you will find instructions for testing your connection in advance.
Connect via app or browser
You will participate via the BlueJeans conference tool, and you can connect in several ways. We primarily recommend the app provided, but if firewalls or anything else prevents you from this you can also connect from a web browser.
Should neither computer app nor web browser work, it is also possible to connect from mobile or tablet.
Install and connect with the App
- To install the BlueJeans app, go to bluejeans.com/downloads
- Choose your preferred option, such as Desktop and "Bluejeans for Windows", you may need to scroll down to find your option. Please note that you will also find solutions for mobile or tablet on this page.
- Download and run the installer.
- When the application is running:
a. Select "Join as Guest" (Not the "Next" button)
b. Enter 111 as Meeting ID and your name (no password)
c. Click on "Join Meeting" - You are now connected to the test classroom. You should see a parrot, as well as your own camera picture in the bottom right corner. At the top are buttons where you turn off and on your camera and microphone.
- Try speaking into the microphone. When everything works as it should, the parrot will repeat what you say.
- You may need to adjust audio and camera settings. You do this via the gear in the upper right. You may need to restart the app to reconnect with new settings.
Connect via browser
Should you have trouble installing or connecting through the app, we recommend using your web browser. For this we recommend Edge, Firefox, Chrome or Safari, but try to avoid Internet Explorer.
- Connect from an approved browser as above with this link:
https://bluejeans.com/111/webrtc - You will be asked what sound you want to use. We recommend Computer Audio.
- A page appears where you can turn your camera and microphone on and off at the top.
- Select "Join Meeting Now".
- You are now connected to the test classroom. You should see a parrot, as well as your own camera picture in the bottom right corner. At the top are buttons where you turn off and on your camera and microphone.
- Try speaking into the microphone. When everything works as it should, the parrot will repeat what you say.
- You may need to make audio and camera settings. You do this by clicking the gear in the upper right. You may need to reconnect with new settings.

Course Material and labs
At course startup you will be provided access information to the course material and lab environment (if applicable). Information and links to this will be sent upon start of the class or shortly before. Your learning environment
Try creating as good a learning environment as possible for you:
- For maximum focus on the course, try to sit undisturbed, preferably with a headset.
- You may use a computer, tablet or mobile for your LiveClass connection.
- It is an advantage, but not necessary, to have one screen for LiveClass and another for lab environment and course material.
- You may turn off your microphone if you do not participate in a discussion.
- If you have a webcam, try keeping it on during class, as this makes it easier for the instructor to determine how the class is doing.
