Virtual Classroom - Instructor Information

For you as a Cornerstone instructor using our Zoom-based LiveClass@home platform, this page helps you get started and provides some additional features that you might need to get familiar with as a trainer.

Before class, we recommend you to start a test meeting and connect a second computer as a guest, to get familiar with the in-meeting features.

Connecting

Make sure to use the connection details provided for the specific class. You will be using a personal login as a meeting host, and the students will connect as guests.

The Zoom Client

To ensure you have the latest Zoom client installed, go to https://liveclass.zoom.us/download and install Zoom Client for Meetings.

Your Zoom login will be based on a personal @liveclass.se address that forwards email to your preferred mailbox. You cannot use an existing account you may have. Before your first class via Zoom, you will be sent an e-mail from Zoom, with instructions about how to confirm and register this account. It’s important that you do this as soon as possible, to enable us to set up your class. Don't forget to memorize your username and password, since we might not be able to assist you with that.

Start the class

In the Zoom client app, make sure you are logged in as your registered @liveclass.se Zoom user

  • Go to Meetings (The clock face in the upper menu), choose the class to the left and click the Start button.
  • Note: You need to start the meeting that is scheduled for you, not the Personal Meeting Room.

In-class Features

Once you’ve got the connection running, you need to get familiar with a few features that you might need as an instructor. Here are some recommendations and  functionality you might have use for, depending on the character of your course:

Virtual Classroom Dynamics

We have collected some useful tricks and directions to make your students engage more actively.
Read more on our classroom dynamics page.

Evaluations

Just like in the classroom, you are to provide the link to the evaluations and give them a few minutes to submit. While waiting for the class, use the time to fill your own class report.
Read more and find your evaluation link here

Closing and Reconnecting

Rightmost in the Zoom control ribbon at the bottom of your screen there is a red button that says End. That's where you leave the meeting and end it, you will be prompted to choose which of these you want.

Your connection info is valid throughout the course. If your course runs over more than one day, you can reuse the same connection info for all days.
