Module 1 - Introduction to SharePoint 2016
This opening module introduces the fundamentals of SharePoint 2016 — what the platform is, how document management and metadata work, and how to build information management structures and intranet designs. It also covers columns, content types, collaboration features, and how SharePoint supports Business Intelligence.
Module 2 - SharePoint Architecture
In this module, you’ll explore the architecture of SharePoint, including farms, the service model, search functionality, and user profiles. You’ll gain an understanding of how the different platform services connect and interact.
Module 3 - Development Environment
This module equips you with the practical tools to start developing in SharePoint. You’ll learn how to set up your development environment, use Visual Studio and SharePoint Designer, and work with PowerShell. The module also discusses solution and app architecture to help you design well-structured components.
Module 4 - Server API
Here, the focus is on server-side development. You’ll learn to work with the Server API, manage events and workflows, and use timer jobs to automate or schedule recurring processes in SharePoint.
Module 5 - Client API
This module explores client-side development using technologies such as jQuery, JSON, and HTML5, along with REST-based updates to communicate with SharePoint from web or client applications.
Module 6 - SharePoint App
You’ll learn about the SharePoint app model — what apps are, how they are distributed through the SharePoint and Office 365 App Stores, and where they can run and be hosted. The module also covers developing custom apps, creating an enterprise app catalog, and adding apps to sites.
Module 7 - Remote Access
The final module covers remote access to SharePoint. You’ll work with web services and WCF, learn techniques for debugging and testing, and understand how external client applications can interact with SharePoint in distributed environments.
