Hand Raising

Instead of using their voices, there is a hand raising feature for students that need your attention.

Each student can call for attention by raising a virtual hand. This is done from the Participants pane in the students Zoom controls. A blue hand will appear next to th students name in the Participants pane, and you will be notified with a text balloon in your Zoom window if your Participants pane isn’t open at the moment. Both you and the student can lower his/her hand.

You Decide

Use this feature if you feel this is a desirable way for students to ask for your attention. If you feel this doesn’t help, for example if you worry that you won’t notice the hand, just tell the class.
